Elaine is in her thirties, and doing her best! Born in the lowlands of Coerthas on a farm her parents worked but didn't own, their debt was called in just after the Calamity. With no way to pay, and no way out, Elaine pledged her service to their land lord by way of the blade. Her dreams of being a proud, gallant knight were dashed along with hopes of ever owning land of her own one day.Two years with borrowed armor and borrowed blade, and eventually a kindly noblewoman took pity and paid out the rest of her debts. She returned to her parents and their new home in the Brume, and did what she could to pay for everything they would need. If it meant living with people beyond her family? So be it, at least they all pitched in to keep the cold out.・・・・☆・・・・☆ ・・・・
She never got to be a Knight.Without the funding and without the time, Elaine was forced to leap from job to job with hardly a breath left to eat or sleep between. Whether it was working at a bar, as a personal guard or even hired to be a night watch for a convent, her eye was always on whatever would keep her going for one more night.It wasn't until she was in her teens that she realized the people directing her to work were ghosts. Once they realized she knew what it was, who it was, she was seeing...they did not leave her alone.Elaine now lives in a truly haunted manor, employed as a glorified House Sitter while the Lord of the estate is away. She has a bathtub, yes, but she also has at least two moaning horrors to deal with regularly.

( I ) AGE     _{21+ OOC & IC for all comfort involved. This applies to long term plot building, not venue interaction!}

( II ) Romance     _{I adore writing slow burns and tragedies. Let's take time and build something fun! Absolutely 0 interactions will be romantic right out the gate.}

( III ) LORE     _{most of my characters are moderately powered, lore adjacent. none of my ocs are written as the WOL, and none have any significant or mentionable connections to NPCs.}

( IV ) PLOTTING     _{Let's both bring something to the table! If no hooks interest you, I'm happy to come up with something entirely new.}

( V ) FORMATTING     _{3rd person, past tense, multi-paragraph (discord), but I tend to mirror. Still, nothing is happening to me and nothing is happening to YOU. Full novel-style punctuation, grammar, etc. No asterisks!}

( VI ) WRITING SPEED     _{Never ever apologize for taking the time to reply to something! Whether it's in-game or via discord, everyone has different paces. I try to get a reply on discord out within a few hours at least, to a few days at most (if I'm out of town, for example).}

( VII ) MOON     _{It's just not necessary. If you have it, cool, if not, no worries! I was a console player for 5+ years. If your OC looks WILDLY different than in-game, please send me an image!}

( VIII ) TRIGGERS     _{If you have specific triggers to avoid, PLEASE tell me. I tend to lean into the macabre and religious symbolism.}

Hook One. - Easy

Elaine has lived in Coerthas all her life. Initially as a farmer's daughter in the lowlands, then as a baron's sell sword in what was effectively a private army defending his land, and then as a familiar face in the Brume - she worked just about every job she could at that point.Where do you know her from? Good hook for longstanding acquaintances or old friends.

Why is she talking about...was that ghosts? According to Elaine, the manor she lives in right now is stuffed to the gills with them. She's not asking for help communicating with them, but she WOULD love someone to help her deal with them.

Hook Two. - Tricky

She's been in some...interesting situations. She once guarded a church that accidentally burned to the ground when a nun's lover snuck in to 'rescue' her. (The two DID get away.)Another time, she was present to save a supposed heretic from execution, and helped to prove her innocence!Elaine has been there for a lot of 'right place, weird time' moments. Hook Three - Rare.

A loyal and faithful follower of Halone, Elaine believes she received a vision of a servant of her goddess on a visit to the nearby convent as a girl. Until that visit, she regularly suffered beestings collecting honey from the Sisters.She was never stung after that point.Elaine wears a rosary in her hair of beads carved from the ruins of that church, after the freeze. Even now she swears she hears the word of Halone when it's most important.Do you recognize her?
